Satoshi Tomioka
Satoshi Tomioka’s work is defined by his inimitable style, which has attracted widespread interest in both Japan and Europe. He established the Tokyo based animation studio ‘Kanaban Graphics’ in 2002, the same year he made his first commercial for Honda, ‘OK Factory’.
A graduate of Tokyo’s University of Technology Tomioka’s career started at Dream Pictures Studio, a production company that specialised in computer graphics. It received extensive screenings on the festival circuit and was shortly followed by ‘Coin Laundry’ and cult hit ‘Justice Runners’.
Commisioned by Taito Corp, Satoshi directed two online viral films ‘Exit’ and ‘Exit 2’. He has also created a 13 episode 3D-animated comedy series for Viacom & MTV Japan called ‘Usavich.’ Following its huge success Satoshi developed a second series.
